Hello, I would like to introduce myself by providing you with my professional background. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in school counseling. I worked in Haledon Public School for seven years as a middle school teacher and in Ringwood Public School as a school counselor.
Here at Demarest Middle School, I will be the lead counselor for the 5th and 6th grade students, but will also be available to the rest of the school population as needed. My goal is to provide Demarest Middle School with a well rounded Guidance Program by helping each student grow as an individual both academically and socially. I plan on achieving this by implementing the following components into the Guidance Program.
*Individual Counseling - Seeing students one-on-one to discuss situations including academic, social or personal that may arise.
*Classroom Guidance- Conducting lessons to each grade level on various topics which may include bullying, study skills or conflict resolution.
*Consultation- Conferring with parents, teachers and administration to assist any student who may be having difficulties.
