I am a Literacy and Math Plus teacher working with first and second graders.
The Literacy and Math plus Program is one of academic support. Participation in the program is based on a combination of eligibilty criteria which may include:
*classroom teacher recommendation
*assessments
*additional screenings
The intensive instruction provided is based on each child's academic needs. The goal is to strengthen the student's exisiting skills and knowledge in order to achieve greater success in subject areas of Literacy and /or Mathematics.
The content of the curricula taught is aligned with both the Northern Valley Curriculum Guides and the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. The classroom teacher and the Interventions teacher work together to implement the program in order to maximize student learning.
I am also a Resource Room teacher. I am currently working with first graders in the area of Reading, Writing and Math. I also work with students in their regular education classroom providing In Class Support. This year I am providing Out Of Class Support for 2nd graders in the area of math.
