Students who are currently participating in Senior Choir are eligible to audition for Select Choir. Auditions are held in September and all those who are currently in sixth grade through eighth grade can audition. The choir participates in many performances throughout the year including concerts,the festival competition trip and community performances.
Attendance:
Attendance at morning rehearsal is very important in order tolearn the music. Select choir meets every Tuesday (Sopranos) and Thursday(Altos and Men) morning at 7:50 a.m. You must attend all rehearsals and attendance will be taken. IF YOU MISS MORE THEN THREE UNEXCUSED MORNING REHEARSALS, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE APART OF THE CHOIR GROUP. What is an excused absence? An excused absence is where you are not in school for the day because of illness, class trip, or family matter. Not waking up is not a valid excuse for missing rehearsal inthe morning.
You must also attend all Senior Choir rehearsals, which are Mondays during the first half of Lunch. An unexcused absence from Senior choir will count toward your Select Choir absences.
Rehearsal Rules:
1. Come to morning rehearsals on time (7:50 a.m.)
2. Have your folder and be ready to sing.
3. No books on the risers.
4. No talking during rehearsal.
5. Raise your hand and be recognized by the teacher before speaking.
6. No Food, Gum, or beverages allowed.
7. Students who disrupt rehearsal will be asked to leave and given an unexcused absence for that rehearsal.
Concert DressCode:
Boys: White shirt, tie, black pants.
Girls: White shirt, black skirt or slacks.
All: Appropriate black concert shoes

All concerts will be held in the Haworth School Gym.
Students will be expected to report at 7:15 p.m.
Other concerts may be added as we are requested to perform. You will be notified about these events as soon as possible and attendance at the events is required.

Fundraisers:
The choir will raise money with several fundraisers throughout the year. The money raised will go towards our trip at the end of the year.
Select Choir Car Wash: September 26th from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Rock-A-Thon: October 23rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Cookie Dough Fundraiser: TBA
Select Choir Calendar:
You will be given a complete monthly calendar that has all required rehearsal and concert dates labeled. This calendar is also availableon the Music Department’s website: http://www.haworthmusic.org
