Every child can succeed.  Some may need specialized techniques and strategies to make the most of the learning environment.    Sometimes, children need specialized instruction or more individualized attention to succeed.  The goal of our special education program is to develop a program in which the child can learn.  Children who have an Individual Education Plan in Grades 2 - 4 are eligible for special services.  The special education teacher works closely with the classroom teacher and Child Study Team to provide these services.  The special education teachers confer with classroom teachers regularly  to share daily and weekly goals for the children.

1.  Out of Class Support means the child has follow up support of content areas in the resource center.
2.  In Class Support means the Special Education Teacher joins the Regular Education Teacher in the typical classroom to provide academic support to the child or children who are identified to receive services.
3.  Replacement Instruction means the child receives primary, direct instruction in a certain subject in the resource center.  The special educator is responsible for assigning homework, tests and report card grade for the certain subject.  Grade level curriculum in this area is modified but the curriculum guide is followed and must be taught by the end of the year.
