Course Description:  Students come to the resource center at various times during the school day.  The children are provided with assistance in reading, written language and math depending on the child's Individual Education Plan.  Some children require assistance with organizational skills and support for content area subjects.  The children who attend the resource center for replacement reading, replacement written language or replacement math are given homework from the resource center teacher.  Students who have out of class support are not given homework from the resource center teacher.  Mrs. Ench communicates often with classroom teachers.  Schedules for upcoming quizzes, tests and projects are shared.

Course Overview:  The curriculum guides for each content area as well as the student's Individual Education Plan are a guide to determine daily, weekly and monthly academic goals for the students.  Some students benefit from specialized instruction such as the Orton Gillingham Method for reading and spelling.  Orton Gillingham is a multisensory strategy to support the reading process.

Class Policy:  Students who have replacement reading, replacement written language or replacement math are given homework from the resource center teacher.  Mrs. Ench is responsible for tests and report card grades for these students.  Homework is an important part of the school day.  It should be a review of previously taught concepts.  If a student is having difficulty with homework please email  or call Mrs. Ench.
