Eighth grade language arts instruction encompasses grammar, usage, mechanics, vocabulary, spelling, writing, and editing. The reading program utilizes read aloud, shared text, and independent reading to accomplish genre studies, author studies, and improved reading comprehension. My goal is for students to become proficient readers and writers in a literature based classroom.
