Step 2: Choose A Scientist Role
Now you are in your research team! Each one of you will research ONE area of the animal's features. You will research this information and then teach it to your teammates. Look at the choices and choose your role.
Physical Characteristics: This scientist will find information about what the animal looks like. What special features does it have? For example, a roadrunner in the desert habitat has special feet that help it run quickly on the sandy surface.
Habitat: This scientist will describe this animal's habitat. Does it live in the water, on ice, or both? Does it always live in the arctic habitat or does it migrate?
Family: This scientist will find information about the animal's family. How many children does it have? Where are they born? How long do the babies stay with their family? How long does the animal live, or what is it's lifespan?
Predators: This scientist will find information about the animals predators. Does it have predators? Who are its predators? How does it protect itself from predators?
Diet: This scientist will find out what the animal eats. What does it eat? How does it get its food?
Endangered: This scientist will find out why the animal is endangered. What is causing it to become endangered? How long has the animal been on the endangered list?
