Wonderful Windows
Following in the footsteps of creative artists like
Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall, our seventh grade
students created incredible watercolor paintings of
views through a window.  Each window focused on a
background, a middle ground and a foreground.
These paintings bring daydreaming to a whole new level!

Printmaking
Our next project in art class was to create a series of
relief prints.  First, we used bamboo carving tools to
dig out our pictures and designs on 12" x 12"
rubber printing plates.
Next, we used brayers to evenly roll the printing
ink onto the flat surface.
Finally, we printed our rubber printing plates
in a variety of colors to create a series.

Advertising, Anyone?
Creating a travel poster as an advertisement
was quite a challenge.  We had specific guidelines
that had to be followed and information that
needed to be displayed while we tried to convince
our viewers to want to visit these great places.
Our main goal was to catch your eye as you walk by!

That's Surreal!
Surrealism is an artistic movement that can
be summed up as real things that are seen in was
that they normally would not be seen.
