Ancient Cave Paintings
What kind of animals do you think you would
see wandering around in the prehistoric age?
Our fifth graders used colored chalk pastels to
create some pictures that resemble the ancient
cave paintings found across Europe, and
especially in Lascaux, France.
The Maya
Pre-Columbian Relief Carving
It was so much fun learning about the Maya culture in art class!
Not only did this group of people have very interesting traditions and beliefs, but their art was as big and as bold as they were!
Below are some of our relief carvings based on what we learned
about the Maya. By carving into foam blocks and painting with
gold paint they almost look like the real thing!
