Tar Beach
Students read the book Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold. Students created their own building that they can fly above and claim as their own. A toy store, ice cream shop and bank are some of their ideas. When complete students will create a quilt design for the border.
Completed 2009-2010 Artwork
Falling Leaves
Students used leaf stencils to create 4 or 5 overlapping leaves. After outlining them heavy with crayon they painted the leaves with watercolor. The leaves were cut out and mounted using small 1/2 inch cardboard squares to create a 3D look. The blue background was created with a bleeding tissue paper technique.
PTO Fundraiser - Laurel Burch Cats & Dogs
All of the Northvale students participated in the PTO Fundraiser Kids Kreations. Kids Kreations specializes in transforming original works of art into personalized gifts and keepsakes that families will treasure for a lifetime! Ordering information will be sent home around the 2nd week of November.
