1.  Online resources for help with completing source cards and the Works Cited list

2.  Requirements and suggestions for completing the eighth grade research paper:

            a.  Use a minimum of  four sources, only ONE encyclopedia article (print or online, not both).
               (Do not use Wikipedia as your encyclopedia source)

            b.  Use only one Internet web site in the first four sources, then another site may be used
             as a fifth or sixth source

        c.  Keep an accurate list of all sources, making a source card for each resource.

         d.  Use the Modern Language Association (MLA) format for source cards and Works Cited list

        e.  Use the “Works Cited Samples” page for some examples of entries in correct MLA format

        f.  General rules for completing a Works Cited page:

                1.  The list must be in alphabetical order based on the first word of the entry.
                2.  Each entry begins with a capital letter and ends with a period.  
                3.  The first line of the entry begins at the margin.  
                4.  The second and all other lines must be indented five spaces.  
                5.  The entire list is double-spaced.
                 6.  Titles of books, periodicals, and films must be in italic print, not underlined.
                7.  Web site entries do not need the URL address if the site can be easily found by the title or author
                8.  Every entry has a medium of publication marker.  Most will be listed as Print or Web, but other
                   possibilities are Personal Interview, DVD or TV.
