Dear Parents/Guardians:

Hi!  Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!  I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to a new year at Thomas Jefferson/Nathan Hale Schools.
I am the speech-language pathologist for Northvale Schools.   I graduated from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!!) with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Arts in Speech Pathology.  I am nationally certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association as well as licensed in New Jersey.  I have been happily working with Northvale School District since 2006!

For speech class, I am requesting a 1-inch binder for your student for his/her homework.  Although homework will not be given every speech session, it is very important that the homework be done.  If your child is working on articulation (speech sounds), it is necessary to practice the sounds on a daily basis (for at least 10-15 minutes).  As you do the homework, please sign it and indicate which days you have worked on the homework.

I look forward to a great school year!  If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me at mehra@nvnet.org.

Below are some helpful websites with speech and language practice work and information.  I hope you enjoy them and find them helpful!
