Welcome to First Grade
School Folder
Please check your child's school folder daily. Read all papers and/or notices in your child's folder.
Parent/Guardian Notes
A note is required for the following situations:
-After your child has been absent from school.
-if your child will be leaving school early.
-If your child will be going home with someone other than the designated person.
Snack
Each morning at 10:00a.m. your child will be having snack. Simple and healthy snacks are encouraged. Please do not send candy, cake or soda.
Homework
Homework is sent home Monday and Wednesday, your child is required to write the homework in their homework journal daily. Reading daily is strongly encouraged.
Birthdays
Birthdays can be celebrated in class. Please let me know when you wish to bring something in, I also welcome someone to come in and read a special book or do a project. We have 17 students.
Spelling Tests
Spelling tests will be given on Fridays. Your child will be given the words on Monday to practice for the week. This is may be your child's first experience test taking. If your child is experiencing any anxiety about the test please let me know immediately.
Monday and Friday are gym days, Please wear sneakers.
Tuesday is library day, Please remember to return books.
